  • James Scott

    James Scott Head of Sales

    James has worked in the film and television industry for over 10 years. Before joining Metropolis in 2009 he was Vice President of Sales at Odyssey Entertainment where he was responsible for selling, marketing and contracting films such as ”Phantom of the Opera“, ”Valiant“ and the OSCAR® nominated, ”An Education“. Prior to working at Odyssey, James worked for Visionview and The Television Production Company, where he was involved in sourcing a variety of films for financing including ”Bright Young Things“ and ”Young Adam“. During this time James also worked on several BBC productions and the Bafta nominated, ”Foyle's War“ for ITV.

  • Roy Smith

    Roy Smith Sales Executive

    Roy graduated from the University of Exeter with a BA Hons in Economics and Finance. He joined Metropolis in 2009 as a Sales Executive assisting the Head of Sales, James Scott. Previous to joining Metropolis Roy lived in Bordeaux, studying French, he then went on to intern at the London office of Content Film developing his knowledge of the film business and assisting in Sales, Marketing and Distribution. Roy is responsible for sales of all rights to the South East Asia territories as well as assisting in Marketing, Legal and Acquisitions.

  • Anders Erden

    Anders Erden Head of Business and Legal Affairs

    Having received a BA Honours in Visual Communications and co-founded a successful internet solutions company, Anders then completed, with distinction, the Graduate Diploma in Law and the Legal Practice Course at the College of Law London whilst running his own company and joined Davenport Lyons in the Film & TV department. His practice covered film and TV, including underlying rights, development, production, finance, distribution and the ever evolving aspects of media convergence, advising a number of producer, production and finance clients. Anders joined Metropolis in January 2010 as Head of Business and Legal Affairs. Anders is a solicitor regulated by the SRA.

  • Jemma Sands

    Jemma Sands Head of Marketing

    After graduating in 2000 with a BA Honours in Media, Jemma started her career in the industry at HanWay Films in 2002. During her time at Hanway, Jemma worked on (amongst others), Bernardo Bertolucci's, 'The Dreamers,' Philip Noyce's 'Rabbit Proof Fence' and Woody Allen's 'Match Point'. After spending five years working in Marketing at HanWay she joined Capitol Films in 2007, as their Marketing Manager. Jemma joined Prescience in June 2008 as Film Marketing Manager, and then moved across to Metropolis International Sales in September 2009, when the company was formed, as Head of Marketing.

    Ralph set up Metropolis with Tim Smith in 2009. Prior to this Ralph was formerly CEO of Odyssey Entertainment and Icon.

  • Tim Smith

    Tim Smith Joint CEO

    Tim Smith has worked in the distribution, marketing, financing, and production of filmed entertainment for over twenty years with a variety of companies including Twentieth Century Fox. For a decade he owned and ran Foresight, one of the most successful entertainment agencies in Europe during the 1990's, representing such clients as Walt Disney, Warner Brothers and PolyGram. After selling Foresight to South Africa's Primedia group in the early 2000's, Tim worked as an independent producer and was joint Managing Director of UK producer/financier Random Harvest before establishing Prescience in 2005, and then Metropolis in 2009.
